Rafferty the Wrecker undertook staged demolition works at Building 142 on the University of Melbourne’s Parkville campus. The project included hand demolition of the plant room, upper-level roof, walls and slab, followed by separation of Buildings 142S and 142N and installation of hoarding to establish the designated work areas.

The remaining building structure was demolished mechanically across the basement, ground and Level 1, down to the specified separation lines. Works also included removal of external hardstands, ramps, fencing and small vegetation, along with protection scaffolding on the northern, western and southern sides of the building. Footings were removed to 1.5 metres below ground level.
