Rafferty the Wrecker undertook the demolition of two steel silos at Pakenham, each approximately 14 metres high and 11 metres in diameter. The works began with the removal of the upper walkways using a boom lift, before the silo structures were progressively prepared for controlled demolition using an excavator.
Each silo was brought down in a planned sequence, with the demolition area secured to prevent unauthorised access. Once demolished, the steel was reduced in size, sorted into the appropriate recycling waste stream and loaded onto trucks for removal from site.
