Rafferty the Wrecker undertook the demolition of 27 buildings at the former CSIRO research site on Graham Road, Highett, preparing the northern section of the 9-hectare site for future residential development. Works included demolition of research buildings, factories and plant structures, removal of internal roads, hardstands, slabs and foundations, and removal of underground services, tanks and pits.

The project also involved asbestos and hazardous materials removal, including lead paint and contaminated soil. Dust suppression, traffic management, fencing, signage, and dust and noise monitoring supported the safe delivery of works. Contaminated soil was either removed to appropriate EPA-licensed landfill facilities or treated on site for reuse.
