Rafferty the Wrecker undertook demolition works at Boronia Basketball Stadium, including removal of the stadium buildings, ground slabs and foundations, with designated column foundations retained. The scope also included demolition of surrounding hardstand areas, paths, paving and other items identified in the demolition plans, together with removal of fixed assets such as basketball frames, rings and the court floor emblem.

Hand demolition was undertaken to separate the stadium from the adjoining library building, which was to remain. Demolition works near the childcare centre and library were scheduled over alternating weekends while the areas were vacant. The project also included asbestos and hazardous materials removal as part of the overall demolition works.
