Batard, 19 - 29 Bourke Street, Melbourne
Partial demolition of two- and three-storey buildings, retaining heritage façades with temporary steel support systems.

Rafferty the Wrecker undertook partial demolition works at Batard, 19–29 Bourke Street, Melbourne, involving two- and three-storey buildings constructed with concrete and timber framing, concrete ground-floor slabs, timber upper floors and brick veneer external walls.
The project required retention of the three-storey Bourke Street façade and the two-storey heritage-listed corner building extending along Windsor Lane. Temporary steel façade retention structures were installed over the Bourke Street footpath and Windsor Lane to support the retained façades until construction works commenced. The three-storey building reached approximately 14 metres in height, with two brick chimneys extending to 17 metres, requiring careful sequencing of the demolition and façade retention works.
