9 - 11 Prospect Street, Box Hill
Demolition of a fire-damaged four-level concrete building and two-level basement beside active railway lines.

Rafferty the Wrecker undertook demolition works at 9–11 Prospect Street, Box Hill, involving a four-level concrete panel building with a two-level basement car park. A significant fire on the top level affected the roof structure and supporting plant, requiring a revised demolition methodology to safely remove the roof structure and strip out the upper two levels.
Located beside railway lines, the project required additional planning and safety controls for works near railway infrastructure and overhead powerlines. These included railway permits, personnel inductions, railway-certified spotter supervision and the installation of 2.4-metre solid hoarding to restrict access to the railway tracks.
