Demolition of a six-level concrete car park and two-level steel-framed display suite, with adjoining properties protected.

Demolition of the six-level commercial car park and steel-framed display suite at 20 Bowen Crescent, Melbourne.

Rafferty the Wrecker undertook demolition works at 20 Bowen Crescent, Melbourne, involving a six-level commercial car park topped by a two-level lightweight steel-framed display suite at the front of the site. The structures comprised reinforced concrete beams and columns, in-situ concrete suspended floors and external concrete walls, together with a steel-framed, steel-clad display suite.
The scope involved complete demolition of all structures on site. Small plant and machinery were used in selected areas to help protect adjoining buildings, while scaffolding provided protection for neighbouring properties and the public. The project required a carefully planned demolition approach to manage the multi-level concrete structure within the surrounding urban environment.
